I'm glad to find your thoughtful comment, John. I appreciate the way you affirm the practice of metta, and love the idea of "brushing up against" whatever it is we're looking for. It's yet another way to value the gift of small things...of having more through less. Thank you for your prayers.

It's good to hear that you were able to reconnect with the heart of what you're looking for during Lent-- may you find strength and peace in taking up your Lenten discipline. I look forward to hearing about the journey!

Your post today stirred a quietness in me. I know that is an oxymoron, I just don't know how else to put it. There is such a push for people to take on more or do something "big" in our culture. One of my desires this year is to have more through less. Not materially necessarily, but in terms of quality of life. Ironically, I have some lofty goals that will require some difficult work, some rigorous effort. But I am weaving more into my life of less in other areas.

Metta is wonderful practice of more with less. It is finding and reminding ourselves of blessing with each breath. What a beautiful thing. I will lift prayers up for you in your quest for the unobtrusive. If you find it or even brush up against it, I hope you will swing by The Practical Disciple and share it.

Lastly, I have lofty goal I am working on for my Lenten discipline, but I needed to read this today, so I didn't get lost in it's "loftiness"...so, I didn't pursuing something just for the sake of it being big. Thanks, I needed to read this so that I would pursue what I feel call to do in the right spirit. Blessing on your Lenten Journey.
